Ciao Fellini – La mia banda suona il rock
“La mia banda suona il rock” did not play the role of a real summer hit, al least in the original version. Ivano Fossati released the hit in 1979, not really good times, at least in Italy. And maybe Fossati did not give all possible success to the hit. He did not include the hit in his live albums, nor in any anthology.
But times do change yesterday like today, and 30 years ago, in 1988, the scene was completely different from 1979. Young people wanted to dance, to celebrate, to live the summer of their lives, with a lot of good music of course. So this band in Italy applied the recipe for success to their music: a good name for the group, “Ciao Fellini” – nothing coul be more engaging! Very good music, easy and ready to dance – but good music however.
They took this fantastic song, rearranged it, gave the hit to the fantastic crystal voice of Cristina, their lead singer. Some appearences in TV, a lot of radio and disco clubs, and everything was done! Ciao Fellini went straight into the history of the 80s!
