Scialpi – No east no west
“No East No West” somehow anticipated important topics by decades. Already in the eighties Scialpi had no preference between east and west, or north and south, or any continent. The great Scialpi presented this song in Sanremo four months before the summer, but we know that the most tasteful fruits need time to be ready for someone to pick them up! So, No east no west became one of the greatest songs of the long hot summer of 1986! And since then, this hit remained one of the most beloved songs of great Scialpi.
We need to say that Scialpi set a very high bar of expectations. Three years before, in 1983, he won the Festivalbar, a summer hit contest, in the competition for young singers. He competed with one of his best hits ever, “Rocking rolling”. He then won again in 1984 with “Cigarettes and coffee“, another fantastic hit. nd since then, nobody can have any other doubt on the talent of Scialpi as a singer and as a showman. To replicate this huge success was definitely an enormous challenge, and that’s why the success of “No East No West” is even more important!
