S’Express – Superfly Guy
“Superfly guy” is the typical hit that, at the end of the 80s, really played the sound of summer. It’s still like that: summer, holidays, night clubs on the beach, resorts on Greek, Italian, and Spanish coasts getting incredibly crowded, and by midnight the fun could take off! Ok, the real disco music is something of the 70s, we know. But in the late 80s, as we already said, new electronic equipment made new music patterns possible. It’s the age of house and techno music. In other words, how to create a song without singing or playing instruments.
House music included different threads, but some great artists really brought it very close to pop music, and it became a huge success. Good for listening, extremely good for dancing, generally with cool videos. In other words, in this summer of 1988 we can enjoy some special house music!
Mark Moore, smart English Dj on top of the S’Express project, already succeeded in finding success months before with “Theme from S’Express“, so he knew how to do it. Both songs were included in an album called simply “Original Soundtrack”. I think Mark did not spend much time in finding titles. Other great house tracks found huge success during spring, like “Doctorin’ the house“, for example, and so… I think we are ready to enjoy some cool summer music!
