Limahl – The NeverEnding Story
A guy enters in a book, and sees himself driving a giant flying dog, and we are about at Christmas 1984. What’s the name of the singer sitting nearby, the one who got his haircut with grenades?
Of course his name is Limahl, anagram of his real family name, he answered a job posting from Art Nouveau and they told him… you are in, but you need a new stage name!
And he says.. ok, I will have one, but you also need it… and the Art Nouveau soon became the Kajagoogoo, found worldwide success with “Too Shy“… but this is another story!
“The Neverending Story” is a movie that is still in the heart of many teenagers of the 80s. This hit, with Giorgio Moroder among the authors, as a dedication to the movie has some peculiarity. The song at the end fades out, with volume slowly decreasing to zero, and this happens in many songs. But this hit also begins with a fade in: the volume slowly raises, and so if you loop the song, without an end and a beginning it really becomes a “neverending song”!
