Midnight’s Moskow – Tovarisc Gorbaciov

“Tovarisc Gorbaciov” is an anthem to humour. The 80s were years full of humour, at moment with pure genius. So, to celebrate Workers’ Day 1987, we need to fly beyond the Iron Curtain with the genius of Midnight’s Moscow, actually pure Italians, a litle bit of Pavarotti and a little bit of Brezhnev, with their absolute russian-like nonsense, buit actually they are saying random words with russian accent.

The opera voice of the refrain belongs to Romolo Emili, a highly respected tenor. A honorable career, but also an enormous sense of humour! And a friendship with Andrea Mingardi, who was the hidden director of this project. Actually Romolo tried to appear under the alias of Romolo Doria, but it seems that not even Romolo believed he could be hidden behind a fake name!

Russians – not at all, nice song – I’d say yes, genius – absolutely! Great idea to put in the same video Stalin, Lenin, and then Madonna, Simon Le Bon and Billy Idol!!!
