Belinda Carlisle – Circle in the sand
“Circle in the sand” is the third single from Belinda Carlisle’s album “Heaven on Earth”. It followed the masterpiece “Heaven is a place on Earth” and the sweet “I get weak“. We are talking about May 1988. This hit did not probably reach the peaks of the two previous songs, but it succeeded in reaching the top ten in many countries. And today we can surely say that it’s one of the most beloved in Belinda’s songs.
Belinda really found the golden age of her solo career, in early 1988. She released other singles from “Heaven on Earth” after “Circle in the sand”, but they were different from country to country. It is a fact, however, that this album brought Belinda among the real stars of the 80s, and we are still talking about her after more 30 years! Again, people started mentioning the fact that Belinda was the former lead singer of the Go-go’s, maybe one of the first girl bands.
Actually she became much more famous as Belinda Carlisle, rather than as the Go-go’s singer, but it was beautiful to say that she was the singer of Go-Go’s!
