Kim Wilde – Hey Mister Heartache
Between April and May 1988 Kim Wilde climbed the charts with “Hey Mister Heartache”, one of her greatest hits ever. Kim is really a long-term artist. Her career started at the beginning of the 80s. The first song I knew by Kim was “Cambodia”, a song of 1982, even I discovered it years later. In 1988 some people thought that she was slowly declining, at the age of 27.
Actually in 1988 Kim found a sort of golden age, and released a row of singles which all topped the charts. She went straight into the history of 80s pop. So, no heartache at all! These hits allowed this fantastic artist to overcome the 80s, and to land directly to our days. Kim is today extremely active with songs, fans, tour, shows, appearances. Maybe more today than in the 80s. Probably the only remark we could tell Kim, is that she focused a lot on the British market, especially after the 80s.
And this is a pity, because in the 80s she got a success which was maybe even greater outside the UK. However, no more doubts: Kim was definitely one of the great artists of the 80s. And she is one of the women who could overcome the limits of time with her huge talent and with her great songs!

I still love you but I'm gonna set you free
Ooh that's the way it's got to be
Cos I know I can't change you anyway
Darlin' there's nothing left to say
