She was not alone…

Tiffany – I think we’re alone now

“I think we’re alone now” is another way of saying – Tiffany. In early 1988 Tiffany, with a first album and with a cover song, achieved an unbelievable success. We all know and love her after 30 years primarily for that.

She had the destiny of many artists in the 80s: you obtain a worldwide success very early. You keep on performing at great levels for years and prove to be a formidable artist, but maybe times are changing. It becomes sometimes difficult to get back at those levels of success. Somehow you are a victim of your own song. Everybody remembers you for that song, even if actually you had a great career in the following years.

It’s really a destiny: “I think we’re alone now” was actually a cover of a 1967 song by Tommy James and the Shondells, and it seems that she was not so happy to make this cover at the beginning.

But you can’t fight against destiny’s joke. When Tiffany had to step down from no 1 in the charts, her place was taken by another cover, Mony Mony. And this was originally another song by Tommy James! It was really a destiny!!

#quotefromthe80s
And then you put your arms around me
And we tumble to the ground
And then you say
I think we're alone now (alone now)
