Fitz – Audio/Video
Internet, audio/video, multimedia. I read that in some sense, also internet was born in the 80s! First experiments started maybe in the 70s, it’s true, and the nets were in use for military purposes even before, but they registered the first .com internet domain on Mar 16, 1985. I understand your question, but sorry, no, it wasn’t 80and30.com. Also the age of multimedia had already taken off, and pop music had already marked in the 80s the success of music accompanied by videos.
So, MTV started broadcasting in 1981, as we know, and in 1983/84 many other programs started in many countries. In Italy a show called “DeeJay Television” merged radio and tv, and showed music videos on Saturdays at midnight, and on Sundays at 2pm. So I really lived for that show. And actually that show always started with the perfect opening song. Fitz had created “Audio/Video”, a great great song with the right level of madness, the perfect opening tune.
