Paula Abdul – Forever your girl
“Forever your girl” climbed quickly the charts in late February 1989. Actually the woman who sang this song was famous as a choreographer, rather than as a singer, in those days. But in late 1988 she released an album with the same title as this song. And she started to climb the charts. And at the end of the year, she really topped the charts with “Straight up”, a destiny in the title of a song.
Of course we talk about the great Paula Abdul. She did not want to wait too long before releasing another song, so in late February she released this single, “Forever your girl”. The song and the video are in pure “Paula style”: she topped the charts again, and showed the world how complete her talent was!
Today we know that Paula is not only a phenomenal choreographer and dancer, but of course she is a worldwide famouse singer and actress, and in the United States she is one of the greatest TV characters. In fact, since the early 2000’s she has been one of the most beloved judges on talent shows like “American Idol”, “X Factor”, and “So you think you can dance” thanks to her experience, talent and charisma.
Probably it’s not correct to say that Paula was an 80’s icon: it would be definitely un understatement for a woman whose career and talent grew day after day until today!
