Get outta my dreams, get into my car – Billy Ocean
Billy Ocean, the author of “Get outta my dreams, get into my car”, was not a guy who released tons of songs, sincerely. He released an album maybe every two or three years. Directors often included his main songs in great soundtracks. He always created peculiar videos, so finally he always succeeded to renew his success. I mean, such a regular guy, that you could really trust him, even if he was not the most prolific of the 80s.
Yet with songs like “Caribbean Queen”, “Loverboy”, and “When the going gets tough”, Billy really deserves his place in the gallery of the 80s. And when the years clock completed another turn, Billy Ocean like the wooden coocoo popped out again. In January 1988 he climbed the charts again with this fantastic “Get outta my dreams, get into my car”. And let’s not forget this fantastic video, half “All night long” and half a cartoon! Once again great job, Billy!
