But a King without a crown! Martin Fry and ABC were definitely a stylish group, created some great music, but I think they were sort of underestimated.
Maybe thay lacked some perseverance or maybe their songs, yet beautiful, never reached the peaks required to become Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet.
I don’t know, actually they ran all through the 80s, from the early years of “Lexicon of love”, yet we remember them with pleasure, but they could definitely have more. It’s a fact that after 30 years we still love their songs!
And we are more than ever persuaded thay they actually deserved a much bigger success, because their music was really great, and peculiar without any doubt.
Actually in the UK they had countless top ten hits and albums, but maybe their success could have been stronger across the Channel. As a metter of fact Martin fry and ABC were real ambassadors of British style… and glamour!!!
