Eurythmics – (I love to listen to) Beethoven
In everything she did, throughout all the 80s, Annie Lennox was extreme, like in “Beethoven”. Extremely skilled, peculiar, iconic, sometimes upsetting, seductive. Both in the worldwide hits of the first albums like “Sweet dreams” and “It’s alright”, and in the hit that had minor success. The album “Savage” was released on November 9, 1987; the first track released as a single was this song. Less successful than other albums like “Revenge” or “Be yourself tonight”, it was definitely an experimental album, a real “sharp turn left”, as the great Dave Stewart proudly stated… but just look at this video and listen to this song: the quality was extreme, and Annie Lennox proves to be not only the fantastic singer we know, but also a wonderful actress.

I was dreaming like a Texan girl
A girl who thinks she’s got the right to everything
A girl who thinks she should have something extreme
