Guns N’ Roses – Paradise City
“Paradise City” should kick off a whole celebration day! In fact, Metal fans should celebrate today, because on Jul 21, 1987 Guns N’ Roses released what Wikipedia calls “best-selling debut album … with about 30 million copies sold worldwide, it is also one of the best-selling records ever”. It’s true, because “Appetite for destruction” skyrocketed immediately Guns N’ Roses into the paradise of rock and metal.
They were not really unknown, but this was their first studio album. Do you know where the name of the band comes from? The original members came from two bands called “L.A. Guns” and “Hollywood Rose”, and of course here was Axl Rose… who has Rose as his real family name, by the way!
