Marvin Gaye – Sexual Healing
#quotefromthe80s
Sexual healing is good for me
Makes me feel so fine, it's such a rush
Helps to relieve the mind, and it's good for us
Sexual healing, baby, it's good for me

In September, 1982 a masterpiece melody came out, accompanied by lyrics that develop the theme of the title: Sexual Healing. Composer of this song is a genius of soul and R&B music, who two years later will be killed with two gunshots by his father, they were inexplicably still living together after a lifetime of violent quarrels: Marvin Gaye. This will be his last major hit, released under the direction of Columbia Records after he violently broke his historical relationship with Motown.
Marvin wrote it in Ostend, where he went to join David Ritz, in order to write his autobiography with four hands. It seems that the inspiration for the title and the song came after a discussion with Ritz about the musician’s collection of porn comics, which immediately made him stop working on the autobiography, and start publishing this hit in record time.
Of course, he also found a way to argue with Ritz because he did not recognize him as co-author of the song, as a court later did. The autobiography turned into a posthumous biography (Divided Soul – The Life of Marvin Gaye) that became a best seller.
Less than one year after his death, Commodores will remember him in their wonderful hit Nightshift, dedicated to him and to Jackie Wilson.
