Madonna – The look of love
In 1987, when she released “The look of love”, Madonna was slowly looking for her new ways, after reaching, in the years of “Like a virgin” and “True Blue” every possibile goal one could imagine in the 80s. The movies “Shanghai Surprise” and “Who’s that girl” finally convinced her that acting was probably not the best choice.
But yet, even in movies which probably were less that memorable, some of the songs were absolute jewels to preserve. Like this beautiful, strong song, “The look of love”, released as a single between november and december 1987. Not the main song of “Who’s that girl”, but after 30 years we have no doubts: it’s a wonderful song, we start to see a more grownup Madonna that will go with us for decades and decades until now.
But, which is the look of love? According to Madonna, as she staed in a popular interview, it’s the look that James Stewart gave to Grace Kelly in the movie “The rear window”. Do you agree?
