Eighth Wonder – I’m not scared
It was Feb 20, 1988, when Eight Wonder and Patsy Kensit released “I’m not scared”, definitely one of their greatest hits. Compared to “Stay with me”, this hit was more mature, just like the look and the music of the whole group. It was definitely more professional. Pet Shop Boys wrote this song, and it’s clear, if you listen to the song. The rhythm and the synth sound are quite different from the tones of “Stay with me”, definitely aligned with the style of Tennant and Lowe.
But also Patsy Kensit, just three years after her first smash hit, had changed: the wild girl of the first videos opened the way not only to an irresistible fascinating and sensual lady, but also to a singer who was aware of her skills and was eager to take on more engaging challenges. Yet, destiny had different plans, as we will senn in few months, and Patsy’s career as a singer was actually at its peak, with almost all satisfactions taken.
But Patsy was such a smart and beautiful woman that she would soon realize she could focus on another great career, becoming a very pupolar actress, especially for British tv. She has been one of the most famous and beloved characters for decades. She appeared in popular serial like Emmerdale for years. And of course she could also focus on an intense (not too) private life, with three weddings. Her three husbands were all frontmen of famous groups, Big Audio Dynamite, Simple Minds, and Oasis. And she went near the another, with a deejay who actually did not reach the wedding day 🙂

Tonight the streets are full of actors
I don’t know why
Oh, take these dogs away from me
Before they, they bite
